The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is pleased to announce that, as part of its efforts to achieve “Zero-Emission Tokyo” by 2050, it has selected businesses and entered into agreements with them to develop model projects for advanced energy-saving building renovations—including insulation and equipment optimization at existing large-scale facilities, as well as the use of cutting-edge technologies.

2. Details of the Initiative

• Taking into account existing energy-saving measures and initiatives such as the adoption of renewable energy, implement optimal renovations tailored to the actual conditions of each building to achieve the energy-saving standards set by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (such as a 70% reduction in CO2 emissions).
• Verification of project effectiveness, publication of results, and implementation of dissemination and expansion efforts, etc.

Initiatives by Tokyu Land Corporation (Shinagawa Tokyu Building)

Implementation of measures such as optimizing equipment capacity (downsizing) and improving outdoor air handling systems, etc.
