Status of Seismic Retrofit of Buildings Along Designated Emergency Transportation Routes
In the event of an earthquake, ensuring that buildings along major arterial roads—which serve as the lifeline for emergency medical and rescue operations as well as the transport of emergency relief supplies—are seismically retrofitted is essential to building a disaster-resilient city.
Therefore, to promote measures related to seismic retrofitting, we hereby publish the status of seismic retrofitting for buildings along designated emergency transportation routes (as of the end of June Reiwa 8) in accordance with the Ordinance Promoting the Seismic Retrofitting of Buildings Along Emergency Transportation Routes in Tokyo (hereinafter referred to as the “Ordinance”), as outlined below.
Please note that since the end of June Reiwa 2, we have been publishing the seismic retrofitting status of buildings along designated emergency transportation routes using indicators such as the section coverage rate, which accurately reflects the traffic functionality of these routes.
1. Section Reach Rate (The probability of reaching a given section from the entrance at the prefectural border)
- Section Reach Rate Chart (as of the end of June, Reiwa 8) — Attachment 1 (PDF: 226 KB)
- Chart Showing Changes in Section Reach Rates (As of the End of December Reiwa 7 ➡ As of the End of June Reiwa 8) Appendix 2 (PDF: 225 KB)
2. Overall Achievement Rate (Average of Segment Achievement Rates)
Overall Achievement Rate = 94.2%
