The 6th Liaison Conference for the Creation of a Disaster-Resilient Capital, “Tokyo,” was held
The national government and Tokyo Metropolitan Government will cooperate on both the hard and soft aspects to strongly promote disaster prevention urban development.
In order to avoid devastating damage in the capital, Tokyo, from large-scale flooding or an earthquake directly beneath the capital, the national government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government established the “Liaison Conference for Creating a Disaster-Resilient Capital, Tokyo” with the aim of strongly promoting disaster prevention urban development that coordinates both hard and soft aspects, and in December 2020, they formulated the “Vision for Creating a Disaster-Resilient Capital, Tokyo.”
Taking into account the lessons learned from the Noto Peninsula earthquake and changes in social conditions, the 6th Liaison Meeting will be held as follows to compile a revised version of the Vision, which has been under consideration since March 2025.
