In preparation for the occurrence of a large-scale natural disaster such as an earthquake directly beneath the capital, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government subsidizes the expenses of shopping districts in Tokyo to ensure the safety of visitors and local residents and to improve the disaster prevention capabilities of the area.We would like to inform you that we have extended the application period as follows:

2 Eligible expenses

Expenses for purchasing disaster prevention equipment and supplies, etc.
(Examples: disaster prevention radios, disaster relief equipment, portable toilets, helmets, emergency food, etc.)

3 Subsidy requirements

The following (1) and (2) must be met:

  • (1)Conduct disaster prevention drills at least once (please indicate the planned date on the application form).
    (Examples: Confirm emergency contact procedures, routes to temporary evacuation shelters, how to use fire extinguishers and AEDs, etc.)
  • (2)Prepare rules and manuals for when a disaster occurs (attach them to the application form).
    We have posted examples of these on our website, so please use them.

5 How to apply

Please submit your application to the shopping district promotion department of your local ward, city, town or village during the application period.
