Approval for establishment of Funabori 4-chome District Urban Redevelopment Association

This is to announce that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has approved the establishment of the Funabori 4-Chome District Urban Redevelopment Association, pursuant to Article 11, Paragraph 1 of the Urban Redevelopment Act, as detailed below.
The urban redevelopment project will aim to achieve appropriate intensive utilization and the concentration of diverse urban functions, creating a lively atmosphere on a daily basis, while also creating a hub that is easy to get around and suitable for the station area.
As part of the development of the town on high ground, the private buildings and government office building (Edogawa Ward New Office Building) being constructed as part of this project will be connected to adjacent ward facilities by a pedestrian deck, forming a base for disaster prevention activities.

1 Project effectiveness

(1)Realizing a harmonious society that flourishes with multigenerational and multicultural exchange

By promoting rational and healthy intensive use of land, we aim to create a complex urban area that brings together a variety of urban functions such as commerce, business, culture, child-rearing, and housing, thereby encouraging interaction and vitality from within and outside the ward.

(2)Establishment of disaster prevention centers prepared for all kinds of disasters

By connecting the plaza in front of Funabori Station to Tower Hall Funabori, the private building, and the government building with a pedestrian deck along Main Road Auxiliary Route No. 140 (Funabori Kaido) at a height above the maximum flood depth, a disaster prevention activity base will be formed and disaster prevention capabilities will be improved.

(3)Creating a pedestrian space and green network centered around Funabori Green Road

By constructing a new pedestrian deck and widening the greenway plaza (Funabori Green Road), we will create a safe and comfortable pedestrian space, create abundant greenery, and form a green network that harmonizes with the facility buildings.
