Subsidy for reinforcement of piloti floors of apartment buildings that meet old earthquake resistance standards

Earthquake

We would like to announce that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will begin accepting applications for subsidies for the design and construction of emergency reinforcement for pilotis floors and other areas of apartment buildings that do not comply with earthquake resistance standards, as these floors are at particular risk of collapse, in preparation for a Tokyo direct earthquake, which is considered to be imminent.
Starting this fiscal year, we will increase the subsidy limit and expand the earthquake resistance requirements for buildings eligible for subsidies. If it is difficult to make the entire apartment building earthquake-resistant, please make use of this subsidy when reinforcing the piloti floors and other areas first.

5 Support for utilizing subsidies

For apartment buildings that have already undergone earthquake resistance inspections, we will determine whether they qualify for this subsidy and will dispatch experts free of charge to provide advice on specific reinforcement methods, etc. In addition, for apartment buildings that have not yet undergone earthquake resistance inspections, we will work with wards and cities to provide information on earthquake resistance inspection subsidies, etc.

If earthquake resistance inspection has been carried out

Apartment building earthquake resistance promotion support project (free dispatch of experts)

If earthquake resistance diagnosis has not been carried out

Promotion of earthquake resistance of condominiums (subsidy for earthquake resistance diagnosis, etc.)

This project is an initiative to promote the “Tokyo 2050 Strategy.”
