Supporting the shift to 100% renewable energy for housing complexes

Power and Communications

The use of renewable energy has both social and economic benefits, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is promoting the conversion of the city’s many apartment complexes to renewable energy. We will now provide support for the installation of substation equipment in new or existing housing complexes. We will also provide additional support for the installation of solar power generation equipment.

Business overview

Subsidies will be provided to recipients who introduce a “registered business plan (a plan to supply 100% renewable electricity through high-voltage bulk power reception)” published on the website of the Tokyo Metropolitan Center for the Promotion of Activities to Cope with Global Warming (Cool Net Tokyo), a public interest incorporated foundation run by Tokyo Metropolitan Environmental Public Corporation (External link).

Grant amount, grant requirements, etc.

When applying, the owner or management association of the apartment complex and the high-voltage bulk electricity receiving business operator must agree on the registered business plan before submitting the application.
