Supporting the establishment and repair of disaster preparedness storage warehouses for neighborhood associations and local community associations

Starting this fiscal year, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will implement subsidies for the establishment of disaster preparedness stockpiles for neighborhood associations and residents’ associations, to support the costs of purchasing and repairing disaster preparedness stockpiles for local neighborhood associations and residents’ associations, in order to promote the development of local stockpiling environments and enable mutual assistance in the event of a disaster.
This grant will support disaster preparedness in the region, where interest has increased due to incidents such as the Noto Peninsula earthquake, and will support the development of a stockpile warehouse to store disaster prevention equipment and materials, so that people can help each other in times of emergency.

1 Target organizations and planned number

Single neighborhood associations and community associations located in Tokyo: 200 neighborhood associations and community associations

*This applies to organizations that have filed a notification with their wards or cities, towns or villages in Tokyo and are registered on their lists as neighborhood associations or neighborhood associations, or that are recognized as such by the wards or cities, towns or villages.

2 Eligible expenses

Costs for setting up and repairing disaster prevention storage warehouses

*This includes the cost of purchasing the unit, costs for transportation, installation, construction and removal, and costs for building inspections.
*This grant is for the storage of equipment and materials, and does not cover the storage of food, etc.

3 Amount of subsidy

Up to 700,000 yen. 10/10 of the eligible expenses

*If any expenses are or are already eligible for subsidies under national or local government systems, the total amount of the grant cannot exceed the eligible expenses plus 700,000 yen.
