Registration application procedures for travel businesses offering “disaster relief tours” to Fukushima Prefecture


The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is running a “Disaster Area Support Tour” project to continue supporting the promotion of tourism and the recovery of the local economy in Fukushima Prefecture, which suffered extensive damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake.
We are now accepting applications for registration for travel businesses in Tokyo that will handle this program in fiscal year 2026. Please review the “Travel Business Registration Application Procedure” below and be sure to watch the explanatory video before applying.
Travel business registration application procedures
1. Subject
Those engaged in travel business or travel agent business that are registered with the relevant government agencies under the Travel Agency Act, have offices or sales offices in Tokyo, and organize packaged tours or arranged tours.
2. Registration application procedure
(1)Watch the business explanation video (online)
When applying for registration, you will need to watch a video explaining the project in advance. If you have difficulty watching the video, for example if you do not have access to the internet, please contact the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Please apply through the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau website (link is external).

We will provide you with the URL for watching the video in due course.
(2)Apply for travel business registration with the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau
After watching the project explanation video as described in (1) above, please apply for registration to the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau by the deadline in 3 below. Instructions on how to apply for registration will be provided in the video in (1). Please also see the attached document (PDF: 423KB) for an overview of the “Disaster Area Support Tour” project. (Even travel businesses that were registered with this project before fiscal year 2025 will still need to watch the video and apply for registration.)
3. Deadline for registration application procedures
Deadline for application to watch the business explanation video in 2 (1) above
Until 5:00 PM on Monday, March 16, 2026
Registration application deadline for the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau in 2 (2) above
Until 5:00 PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2026
*After the deadline, applications will be accepted until the following date and time, but registration will be decided after April 1, 2026.
Please note that the discount applies to tours made after the registration decision date.

Until 5:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026
Registration application deadline for the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau
Until 5:00 PM on Monday, April 20, 2026
*This project is being implemented as part of the “Fukushima⇔Tokyo Campaign” being run by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
*The implementation of this project is subject to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s fiscal year 2026 revenue and expenditure budget being passed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly by March 31, 2026.
