Recruiting participants for facility tours for River Conservation Month-related events
Experience the charm of Tokyo’s rivers
July is River Conservation Month (*). Tokyo will hold various river conservation events to help people become more familiar with and love Tokyo’s rivers. Please come along and participate. (Participation is free.)

In order to promote the conservation and restoration of good river environments and to foster awareness of river conservation, July has been designated River Protection Month every year, and various events are being held by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and other local governments.
In 2025, we will be holding facility tours at three locations. Staff will provide on-site explanations about the role and structure of each facility.

1)Experience the huge tunnel under the Circular Route 7 (Kanda River and Circular Route 7 Underground Regulating Pond) Horinouchi, Suginami Ward
Date and time
Four sessions will be held on Saturday, July 5 between 9:30 – 12:50.

Total 200 people
We will visit a flood control reservoir that is 12.5 meters in diameter and 4.5 kilometers long, located about 45 meters underground under the Route 7 Circular Route.
(*) In principle, you will have to use stairs to go up and down to the underground tunnel (222 steps, equivalent to 14 floors of a building).
2)Visit to the underground reservoir that protects the city from heavy rain (Ebara Reservoir)

Total 40 people
We will visit a flood control reservoir located on the former site of Ebara Market, which is approximately 59 to 75 meters wide, 30.5 meters deep, and 126 meters long.
(*) There are stairs to go up and down within the tour course (equivalent to three floors of a building).
3)Tour of the Water Gate Management Center, which protects low-lying areas, Kiyosumi, Koto Ward

The tour will visit the Water Gate Control Center Monitoring Room, which remotely monitors and controls 20 facilities, including water gates and drainage pumping stations, and the Kiyosumi Drainage Pumping Station, which drains water in emergencies.

Precautions
- Please meet at the venue. Please use public transportation to get to the tour venue.
- There will be stairs to climb, so please wear comfortable clothing and non-slip shoes.
- Only one application per person for the same event is allowed.
- We expect that the number of applications will exceed the number of available spots, so we will hold a lottery. Please refrain from canceling on the day.
- Please note that the event may be canceled or the content may change due to weather conditions.
- We will notify you of the results regardless of whether you win or lose. If you do not receive a notification 10 days before the event date, we apologize for the inconvenience.
